Adrian Bancker (1703-1772) was born in Albany and probably apprenticed to Henricus Boelen in 1718. He was admitted a Freeman in New York City on April 6, 1731. One of Bancker’s most interesting commissions was a silver bowl for Andrew Gautier. This engraved bowl, now at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, depicts Gautier and others helping to fight a fire at the Free School building which was directly adjacent to Trinity Church.?
