A George III Fourteen-Piece Dinner Service
London 1768 by S. & J. Crespel
Length of the largest pair of dishes: 21"; Weight: 597 ozs.
These wonderfully heavy dishes are engraved with the coat-of-arms and crest of John Peyto, 14th Baron Willoughby de Broke, who married Lady Louisa North, daughter of Francis, 1st Earl of Guilford and sister of the celebrated prime minister Lord North. It is rare nowadays to find a complete servicein fact, we bought half of this service in the U.S. and the other half in England. |
