A Colossal George III Chocolate Pot
London, 1763, by Whipham & Wright
Height: 15 1/2", Weight: 65 oz.

The item shown here is a great rarity for a number of reasons. First, chocolate pots are unusual in the second half of the eighteenth century; and second, it is by far the largest pot—for coffee or chocolate—we have ever seen. It is beautifully chased with scrolls and foliage, and applied with cast flowers and leaves. The detail shows the spout actual size.
