The arms are those of Button impaling Bennet. Made for Sir John Button, Baronet, of Ogbourne St.George, Wiltshire, on the occasion of his marriage to Mary Bennet in 1699. Complete toilet services from this period are extremely rare, and the present example has survived in beautiful condition. Each piece is extremely heavy and crisp.
